AI won’t pick the crops. Seso is putting it to work in the farm office.

Seso’s relaunched platform uses AI to take on the paperwork that eats into farm margins, from H-2A visas and onboarding to payroll and compliance.

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Seso, the AI-powered workforce platform for American agriculture, today relaunched with a new suite of AI features for ag employers. Seso brings hiring, worker onboarding, payroll and H-2A compliance onto one platform, and the routine work behind them now runs in the background, from filing documents to checking I-9s to sending follow-ups. Seso is the largest H-2A agency in the U.S., based on Department of Labor data, and operates one of the largest payroll platforms for U.S agriculture.

The centerpiece is Rootly, an AI-powered assistant that answers questions about employer’s workers, contracts and compliance status, and can update records in Seso after a user approves the change.

Most farm offices are small, and the paperwork is heaviest during harvest, when there’s the least time for it. Until now, finding out which workers on a crew are missing a phone number, or which contracts still need filings, previously meant clicking through several screens, pulling a report or calling support. Along with Seso’s new suite of AI features, Rootly is designed to work alongside every grower’s team, taking on the repetitive back-office work so their people can focus on running the operation.

“Nearly every customer we work with is short-staffed in the office, and harvest only makes it harder. Most of them can’t add another person to payroll,” said Michael Guirguis, CEO of Seso. “We built these tools so a small office team can work like a much bigger one and an enterprise farm can feel like they just brought on 10 more staff members. With these tools, our customers are spending less time looking up records and fixing paperwork, and more time on the decisions that move their operation forward.”

How Rootly works. Rootly is featured on the new Seso homepage and in a side panel on every page. A user types a question, such as how many H-2A workers are assigned to a contract, and Rootly answers from that employer’s records and links to the records or regulations behind its answers. It can also explain H-2A, I-9 and E-Verify requirements, pull a report or export, and set up a draft workflow from a short description.

Rootly can also take action, such as updating a worker’s phone number, assigning workers to housing or editing an H-2A contract. Each change shows up as an approval card, and nothing is saved until the user approves it. Rootly has the same permissions as the person using it, and it never displays Social Security, passport or other ID numbers in the chat.

The relaunch also includes the following new AI features:

  • Magic Folder: Users upload a batch of worker documents at once. Seso sorts them by type, matches each one to the right worker and holds them for review before saving.
  • I-9 Audit Agent: Compares each I-9 on file with the worker’s profile, passport, I-94 and Social Security card, and lists anything that needs to be corrected.
  • Workflows: Employers set up recurring steps once. When something happens in Seso, the follow-up email, task or reminder goes out automatically.

These features run on the same system customers already use for visa operations, onboarding and payroll. They are the first of a growing set of AI agents built for agriculture. Throughout 2027, Seso plans to add agents that take on more of the work around a farm’s workforce, from H-2A filings and food safety compliance to everyday HR tasks and the business side of the operation, each one shaped by what customers ask for.

“The people in a farm office know their operation inside out,” said Kenny McCroskery, Head of Product at Seso. “We built these features so the routine work runs on its own, from filing documents to checking I-9s to chasing signatures. Then office teams can focus on taking care of their people and helping the business grow.”

“The paperwork was a huge game changer for me. It really changed my workload for the whole season, because I’m pretty much a one-person office. When you have 120 workers a year coming in, and you’re printing, filing and getting everybody to sign everything, switching over to Seso made all the difference.” – Beth Brown, Co-Owner at Orchard Dale Fruit Co

Availability. Rootly and the new AI features are available to all Seso customers in early access, with some features in beta. To see the platform or book a demo, visit www.sesolabor.com.
