After Going Live Ahead of Schedule MISSILE Experiences Rapid User Adoption
MISSILE Streamlines Navy Test Events with Real-time Visibility into Configuration Management and Asset Availability
WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The first installation of Beacon’s land-based test facility operations and sustainment platform, MISSILE (Multiple Systems Status Information Logistics & Equipment), is live and operational at the NAVSEA Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) at Wallops Island. MISSILE digitizes and streamlines the daily operations of land-based test facilities and provides visibility into an enterprise-wide schedule of test events, enhancing insight into time lost and time gained.
Operational Impact
Land-based test facilities face the complex challenge of performing integrated testing on mission-critical equipment before it can deploy to the Navy. MISSILE consolidates multiple lines of asset configurations and overlapping test cycles intrinsic to these sites, empowering NAVSEA to more rapidly deliver new technologies into the hands of the warfighter.
Rapid Delivery of Capabilities
Currently operating under an IATC (Interim Authority to Connect), the system went live during its prototype phase with a follow-on multi-year licensing contract in process. During the SBIR Phase II effort, Beacon adapted commercial products to meet the nuanced program requirements of the Navy’s land-based test facilities.
“We’re proud to have delivered this hand-in-hand with the sailors and staff at Wallops Island,” said Beacon’s President, Mike MacEwen. “MISSILE fits end users’ processes to a tee, driving the high and rapid user adoption it has experienced at Wallops.”
“Our partnership with Beacon has been one of the best engagements on both a tactical and corporate level,” said Ronnie Franks, Engineering Project Coordinator at SCSC Wallops Island. “They are super supportive and responsive. I can recommend Beacon to any Navy organization to work with.”
